What's Buzz-worthy: These little boxes are relatively cheap at the link (blaster-priced right now) and I opted to grab one since it's been a while since I dabbled with one of these boxes. Why? They're admittedly funky with their hits and there are some unusual things possible here. This time? A newspaper clipping card pre-dating a big day leading up to the 1929 stock market crash, a magazine or book clipping card for the 44th president and the same for the 38th president, though there's a shot that it might be from a signed document (it appears to be thick paper). ... As said last time, this one is a little confusing as it's a release with some of the inclusions here could have been found in earlier ones (hence the Hybrid part). The base cards? Those are from the first series from 2017 -- one a Declaration of Independence signer and the other the founder of the Sierra Club. A new set found here? Presidents in Sports cards -- and I landed a Gerald Ford, who played football for the University of Michigan. ... Boxes of this one note that they should have a Stamp On Our Past card (not here), a Pieces of The Past Relic (two here, one noted as from a previous edition) and an In The News Relic. The stamp cards use past stamps, something different that visually add some variety but not what I'm seeking. I prefer the possibilities of the Pieces of The Past Relics, which in previous releases were swatches from autographed documents. Just like last time I busted one of these, both cards noted here are noted as "piece of relic from" but I couldn't find the associated items on the company's site to see what they were. ... The first Pieces of The Past release was in mini-envelope packs with a hit per box, while the second release I opened included a larger volume of base cards and a hit (not in packs). This one puts more emphasis on the hits with lesser base presence. It's evolved and changed and, for affordable novelty, this is a brand that can pique my interest. A nice swatch can get you some cash back here if the boxes are cheap enough and this one might come out ahead based on some of the asking prices I saw out there for other copies of my same relics. Not all of the relics here work for me, but they are what they are ... something different for non-sports collectors to ponder.
