What's Buzz-worthy: This will be the first of a few Heritage boxes you'll see ripped here in the coming days as Buzz went on the promised binge you probably saw predicted after our hobby box break here. This was something I ordered online from a retail seller as a two-part experiment -- to see if I'd receive a sealed tray (yes) and to see if it delivered any better than other formats (maybe). There were very few surprises here -- or duplicates -- while it delivered a one-in-72-box 100th Anniversary parallel, which is an announced print run of just 25 copies. The centering on the Chrome cards was brutal, which hurt the positive feel of the Chromes, which wouldn't be guaranteed in a tray as they are one in nine and one in 16 boxes. This one wasn't the Walmart-specific box so no Decal inserts (there would have been four), which is a bit of a bummer as I like those, but overall it was a way to get a bunch of base cards for the set without ripping hobby at its current market prices. There are autographs (one in 150 boxes) and Relics (one in 25) to be found here but they weren't in this one. As seen yesterday, these packs can run pretty warm in terms of star players but they don't cough up the inserts all that heavily, which is one of the things that helps the values of cards from this heavily collected brand. All in all, it wasn't a super-flashy experiment but it wasn't one that I regretted, either. I've seen some legendary autos arrive from hangers -- something that prompted this experiment -- but I may lean toward blasters a bit more based on what I've seen so far.
