What's Buzz-worthy: This one came and went so quickly at retail this year that I figured I'd jump on another hobby box at its sale price and once again did relatively well. The basic Silver parallels are one in every other box but a Legends Silver is one in 564 packs. (Insert the Ron Simmons "Damn!" here.) The hits included one member of The New Day and a Relic for one of WWE's top female competitors. The rest was in line with what you typically find here -- a redo of 1989 Topps and other cards from around that timeframe. As mentioned previously, the stock and corners are soft and damage prone at times with the base and parallels, while the top edges seem to regularly have surface wear from packaging, which is a bummer if you like getting a few highlight cards graded. Aside from the stock, that current printing technology makes a world of difference along with strong photography making 1989 feel better than back then. This one is very insert-heavy in hobby boxes but it still works with a mix of cards that are all relatively cohesive together with their feel and design, which might be one improvement from last year's version. You also have to buy more than one box to build a set. Hobby boxes guarantee you an autograph every time and the lineup here is strong, though most of the signers we've seen before. At their current prices, these are very solid buys. Last year's was a strong Heritage set with a mix of baseball and WWF set designs from the past but this one is better with a little more color and flash along with some solid photos of past and present stars.
