What's Buzz-worthy: This newest Walking Dead release takes us through the history of the franchise with a 100-card base set and inserts that's very similar in approach and box breakdown to its past releases. There's nothing wrong with that as it's a simple formula that presents a simple collecting challenge -- there are even Walmart-only Relics and inserts found here and not anywhere else -- but when it's a box with one of the standard Relics and not much else it's pretty standard stuff. I've been spoiled by finding a bullet Relic, dual relics and plenty of low-numbered parallels in past boxes, so perhaps some of this one is just comparing it to those. The variety here is good with the inserts, though they're all standard cardboard, and some of them have looks that help them differentiate themselves from other sets. That's a plus. Maybe some type of non-traditional card -- diecut, different stock, embossing, something -- would make the variety even better. If you're a fan of this franchise, you'll find plenty to chase and like. One big highlight in these boxes? Autographed bat cards for Negan, Dwight, Glenn, Abraham and Eugene.
