What's Buzz-worthy: The wood borders may give this one a slight 1987 Topps vibe, but the super-thick stock with a Chrome surface that allows for vibrant color on every card offers a very high-end feel without the four-figure price. You also get safety in boxes here with three autos and three Relics per -- pretty much the norm for this brand -- with the MLB Authentication program also getting a nod here. This MLB-stickered Jose Altuve card (one in 40 packs) comes from a jersey he wore on Sept. 11, 2016, in a 9-5 loss to Jake Arrieta and the Chicago Cubs. He hit the 59th home run of his career in the game (presumably in this jersey). That bit alone makes that card a lot more interesting to me and it added to an Astros box that had a nod to the World Series and a couple of Houston base cards. This one also had autos from two young stars and a Hall of Famer auto that's also one in 40 packs. (Keep in mind that are only 36 packs in a case.) Take those things and add on some big names in the base cards and this one delivered pretty well looking at the odds, though its price range does raise expectations when you're ripping. The super-premium helps the feel some here -- it's among the best creations I've seen -- and you can dabble by the pack at the link above. Trying a box is the safest way to go and there are much bigger potential pulls than this box included but it's one that's worth a shot if you're a risk-taker. There's some interesting stuff on the checklist.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: A (two hits harder than one per case in one box)
Fun Grade: B+ (it's on the pricey side)

Who is Lewis Brinson and why is he in a $300 product?
