What's Buzz-worthy: My second one of these could be my last -- depending on how they reload out in the retail wild -- and that's OK for me on this one. Why? Well, as much as I like it, I've ripped a ton of NBA this year and I'm close to full. (But ... if I find it? I still probably rip.) That said, if this one had arrived early in the year? I'd be feasting on it like something seen in a zombie film -- it's good if you rip into this one in some volume for sure. This box had some decent highlights but wasn't as strong as my first box that had a pair of LeBron James appearances and some ink. This one is closer to reality I think -- it might even be closer to average but some rookie inserts and inserts I didn't see last time, making this one feel a tad different and still OK. ... As said last time, Hoops has gone Premium Stock -- aka Optichrome -- for this one and it's a format that could mean some strong boxes here or some lean ones as the overall set is 300 cards but you get only four cards per pack. If you land one of the top rookies, you should be OK or if you land notable veterans you might do OK, too. ... I like the look and feel of these more than I thought I would and this is obviously one big end-of-season retail force and a premium-seller in other formats. Really, it can't lose as showcasing good photos on Chromium can't hurt and there are parallels that will be scorchers with the right names attached. I did a bunch of NBA this year and this one will be a break for me as (if) I see it in the coming weeks. A new season's NBA cards will be here very soon, too, but for now I'd lean toward these as those RCs are strong.
