What's Buzz-worthy: This is my first taste of a mega box and I like these because you get a big stack of meaty packs -- they're twice the size as blasters both ways (plus some) -- and that gives you more shots at those key big-dollar rookies as well as parallels and inserts for them, too. Did it work out for me this time? I'm not all that sure ... it wasn't a bad rip but I don't see any of the truly big possibilities here beyond one card, Tyler Herro. But, it gave me my shot at Ja Morant and Zion Williamson. As noted before, Hoops has gone Premium Stock -- aka Optichrome -- for this one and it's a format that could mean some strong boxes here or some lean ones as the overall set is 300 cards. (My run of basic RCs isn't that great in my mind and my base stars noted above seem lean, too.) I like the look and feel of these more than I thought I would and this is obviously one big end-of-season retail force and a premium-seller in other formats. Really, it can't lose as showcasing good photos on Chromium can't hurt and there are parallels that will be scorchers. I did a bunch of NBA this year and this one will be a constant break for me as (if) I see it in the wild more often. This release does seem to be arriving in waves like other NBA products this year and this box format sold me for sure as the one I'd target first.
