What's Buzz-worthy: These boxes ($12.98) are Walmart's National Baseball Card Day component this year and this one over-delivered with an autograph, which has posted odds of one in 24 packs (so one in 12 of these boxes). The packaging is simple with the bonus pack alongside a pair of jumbo packs that you'll see at the store for this release and the Gallery preview cards are very well-crafted this time. They have a nice mix of spot gloss and foil stamping with a coupon for $2 off a blaster or $5 off a mega box for Gallery once it arrives in November. Platinum isn't that big of a favorite for me this year but this one also included a short-printed Pete Alonso RC, while giving me a double-dose of the player who won't leave me alone this year, Christin Stewart. All in all, this was more interesting of a break than I had expected and there are some good players being found in that preview set. Hobby shops will have a different pack of cards for visitors today with autographs possible in those packs as well as a bonus card available with purchase. The hobby shop National Baseball Card Day checklist can be seen here.
