What's Buzz-worthy: The third go of this one uses artist images to revisit various DC stars and you get a few looks at characters from around the universe but not a lot of info here. The backs use the same image without color and name the artist and it's ultimately the same approach on the inserts where it's not always obvious who's on the card with a glance at the front. (Not a problem to the regular fans but it didn't help me at all, especially on the Front Line set.) The printing and collation here is solid though the insert sets won't all be completed in one box. You get a sketch in every box and there are other inserts possible not landed here. The figure is also a nice touch that adds a little extra to the package of stuff here -- a move I wish we'd see more of in all products. I think the artist-focused approach here isn't as strong as presenting info on characters but regular heavy-buying fans will know them already so that's probably why Cryptozoic went this direction. (It all comes together a little more quickly.) I really like the look and feel of the Vintage cards as they almost look like an autograph and stand out from the rest of the stuff here with their oldschool stock. Had there been one more kind of unusual inclusion in each box I think there would have felt like a little more variety and fun would have been there. Put this one alongside its previous two versions and it's a simple and fun collection with a focus but also some challenges if you want to chase certain characters or artists on sketches.
