What’s Buzz-worthy: I'm not the biggest fan of this brand's look and feel this year, but I do like its formula as one of the most collector-friendly brands for football collectors the last few years -- and when I saw these new mega boxes delivered the same volume of hits as a hobby box I had to bite. You get one auto and one mem card for $35 in this one, though the volume of inserts and rookies is about the same as a blaster box and the volume of packs isn't that high. You're paying more for the hit -- or, to put it differently, a guaranteed auto. The Bronze parallels are also only in these and that worked in my favor here with a variation among them this time of the reigning MVP. It also didn't hurt that one was a Rated Rookie, meaning if you land the right RR there you could come out very ahead with these boxes. This time? I think it felt closer to average overall with my RCs a bit flat this time and the star list a little lean compared to my blaster break, which had about three times as many notables. The auto here was a retiree -- it will be interesting to see if these can deliver a variety of ink, I don't know yet -- while the mem card was more of the typical rookie fare for a retail hit. I think these boxes do have some potential so I will likely dabble more though I'm just not as sold with this design this year.
