What's Buzz-worthy: I hadn't ripped into one of these since they first arrived and my first one included two hits. This time? Just the standard one -- but it was of a Hall of Famer. The inserts and variety here are the stars as the base set has a tweaked 1989 Score design that's best for its parallels and a rookies design that's nice but doesn't really match that well. You get a heavy dose of college cardboard here -- I don't mind that -- and plenty of pro stuff everywhere else. ... Hit that link above for hobby if you want ink -- four per box -- and you'll land about 150 rookies/inserts/parallels there. The hobby boxes also include stamped 1989 Score buybacks -- a nod to the landmark debut set for this brand. About the only drawback here is that the design doesn't follow that original as an exact copy. The white bar between the nameline and the photo here definitely bugs me in comparison to the original design and this is a design that I think would work better without white borders. All in all, though, you get a deep checklist with a number of good photos and the mess of inserts in either hobby or blasters. This is one worth a look for a hobby box.
