What's Buzz-worthy: This is the third set of cards sent to members of 582 Montgomery Club and it arrives after a set of stickers last time around and the first set that had an autograph chase. This one is a design crafted after a poster design made in 1972. The lineup is top MVP-caliber veterans and Rookie Cards of notables though there are some rookies who aren't as hot as others. My auto was of a Braves rookie having a decent year though he's had cardboard since 2011 thanks to USA Baseball. I like the retro look of this one though finding these in elite-grade slabs might not be all that do-able as the centering on my entire set is not good save for the auto, which is the closest to clean but still off. (My favorite card from the first set is in next month's Making The Grade ... so I might have slabbed some here.) This is a nice little set but I think it could have offered some oomph with some type of simple single insert per set beyond an auto just to add to the chase in case your auto just doesn't suit you. Generally, though, I like the feel of these and that helps keep it as an A despite my centering woes.
