From time to time, Buzz will break a box of something and post the results here. Like this and want to see more? Or maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.
The box: 2019 Topps 582 Montgomery Club Stickers (Set No. 2 in membership)
Where to buy: Only part of membership
Base set completion: 20 of 20 (100 percent)
Base cards – Mike Trout, Kris Bryant, Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Miguel Andujar, Christian Yelich, Jacob deGrom, Ronald Acuña Jr., Juan Soto, Clayton Kershaw, Mariano Rivera, Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, Johnny Bench, Tom Seaver, Yusei Kikuchi, Jeff McNeil, Ryan O'Hearn, Luis Urias, Kyle Tucker
What's Buzz-worthy: This is the second set of cards sent to members of 582 Montgomery Club and it follows the first set that had an autograph chase with a simple set of 1960s-style stickers as was announced when members signed up. They seem to be a mix of the old For Mayor styles along with some similarities to 1967 Topps Stickers with the card backs explaining their origin. The presentation this time was immensely stronger than the first release with both a display box and a security seal, despite it just being a basic set. The lineup includes a number of rookies and big veterans from today as well as the past -- a seemingly more consistent lineup than last time. Highlights here might include Yusei Kikuchi, Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Juan Soto. There's no chase element in this one but it does feel like a simple solid set that will either work for you or not with its style. (In my mind most work for what it is ... some do not.) A fan-voted set with ink might be up next so there could be added heat here coming up later this year.
