What's Buzz-worthy: My first look at this one came on the blaster front but ripping into a hobby box shows the full power of this one with its deep roster of rookies and Hall of Famers on past designs but also with a varied insert array and two guaranteed autos every time here. This box included an Expos parallel auto (one in 404 packs) of a guy today's collectors should know as well as a couple of basic parallel cards that are both not one per box. Also in this one that shouldn't have been? A one-in-78 1975 Topps Mini card. It's all not the flashiest stuff but I'd argue that this one isn't made to be. It's giving us a look back with a collector-minded approach that has a 1980s feel with today's hits as well as plenty more. The Expos set doesn't quite do it for me like Archives' past specialty inclusions -- Bull Durham, The Sandlot, Major League or Will Ferrell -- but it's a good set on the autograph side and there's plenty more in this one to warrant a look. Hobby boxes are the way to go with this one.
