What's Buzz-worthy: This was a decent surprise as he's a memorable name from the past who hadn't appeared on a ton of autographed cards at times making his appearance here a little more interesting. From 2005 to 2014, "Juan Gone" basically wasn't a signer on much, though he is pushing about 1,000 different auto cards (still a lowish number for his era) out of roughly 5,800 different card appearances. The volume on this card is palatably low, though its condition looks a but iffy as the blue borders used for 2003 Topps showcase any flaws well and there are some here. This card actually arrived crooked in its magnetic -- something I've never seen happen for this brand ... or in general with these cases -- but several firm smacks on a desk got it to slide back in place. The autograph is relatively bold in a gold ink that looks pretty good. This is a brand that can be hit and miss -- you can find some really good stuff for the box price and you can find some lesser guys, too, money-wise -- and that just comes with the territory with this type of product. I do wonder whether this is a brand where you could put two cards in a box and give them a tad safer potential return as some players will be more popular than others or maybe create a miniature Hot Box situation.
