What's Buzz-worthy: These small boxes guarantee ink in every mini box and it's a small set loaded with stars as always. One difference this year? The design seems simplified -- and I like that -- with a modest amount of throwback-style insert inclusions that really stand out (some more than others ... I like the Blue Chips). But, overall, this one feels like it has a new clean feel for everything. This box wasn't the flashiest for its inclusions, but the base card names and Rookie Cards were pretty decent and a key rookie among the Refractors helped -- but not enough to get it to an A-status box in my book. (The Green and Green Wave auto are tougher pulls, but they just didn't jump out at me as solid big finds.) The variety of inserts in such a small box made it fun but I didn't land too many notables for inserts -- unless you're a Yankees fan. This is a brand that seems to be not as plentiful vs. others on Chrome-style stock during the MLB release year and it's got the ink helping limit things to a degree along with the small box size. That could help value for key rookies and stars though other brands might have deeper collecting interest. I'd hesitate to call a long-running brand like Finest a sleeper but I think it might be overlooked by the Topps Chrome and other Chrome-stock releases. The key guys here are worth picking off and, again, I just like the look of the basic cards this time around.
