What's Buzz-worthy: It's a quiet Tuesday of sorts (so far) but I figured I'd take that time to revisit a brand from last year that's growing on me some. The SPs here are just one per blaster and aren't all that different than the base cards but they give it a little star power and add some value when it's a guy like Thomas rather than some rookie. Meanwhile, the rookie presence here is strong -- more than one per pack -- and I think the pricier collector's box can deliver good volume of everything even more along with two autos. ... As said last time, this Walmart-exclusive premium brand has plenty of star power from the past and present and there's a pretty good chunk of inserts, too. ... I wasn't big on last year's artwork based on teasers but was pleasantly surprised once I ripped into a box. This one? It's got good design and gloss/foil touches -- the frames -- but not as many of the art pieces jumped out at me from these players. My favorites? The Hall of Fame Gallery paintings and the Heritage inserts, which use the 1965 Topps design -- a favorite of mine from the past.
Product Grade: B
Box Grade: B+ (decent names here among rookies but no "big" card to get an A)
Fun Grade: B
