What's Buzz-worthy: With Opening Day finally upon us, I figured I'd rip into a box you might be able to find out there in the retail wild no matter how barren your section might look -- this is a release that seems to be lingering longer than all others out there and yet it's a brand that can deliver some decent stuff with some luck. The framework of the design here is strong with limited uses of foil and spot gloss and a decent array of inserts even in a smaller blaster box. Autographs also can be found, too, but your best bet is to hit that link above where you can find two autos in every collector box and even have a shot at original artwork in those larger boxes. (Those vanished quickly at retail.) The only drawback of this release that may help it linger? The artwork might not be the taste for many collectors but there are still some clean pieces to be found here. As said before, the more I dabble with this one, the more I like it and SPs here are one per blaster and the volume of RCs you get here is strong -- both key for this format. You also get a pack of Artist Proof cards only found here in blasters (this one had some good names there). This Walmart-exclusive premium brand has plenty of star power from the past and present and there's a pretty good chunk of inserts, too. My favorites here? The Hall of Fame Gallery paintings and the Heritage inserts, which use the 1965 Topps design -- a favorite of mine from the past. If you like some of what you see here, hit that link for the larger boxes that guarantee a lot more.
Product Grade: B
Box Grade: A- (thanks to the SP, Vladdy parallel and some other decent names)
Fun Grade: B
