What's Buzz-worthy: With tomorrow being the big day, I figured I'd check out one of these super-cheap ($9.99) blaster boxes just to see how the Kids take on horror movies and other aspects of the genre. The categories here include 1980s horror, modern horror, folklore monsters, cult horror, retro horror, slasher films and horror personalities. The bonus pack in this one was a horror show of its own with all three cards damaged in packaging (bad corners and a lifted surface on one) but the overall feel here wasn't bad, though I'll admit I didn't know some of the stuff referenced here. The ones I do know are pretty solid - this one is loaded with newer references -- but it's not quite full of the 1990s hatred that I loved earlier this year. If you want to just build the basic set, this is a good starting point, though the basic boxes you can find at the link up top might give you more volume for a better price. Check out the gallery for a good chunk of what was in this box and see how many references you get.
