What's Buzz-worthy: This was a pretty rough break if you're chasing anything but standard base cards -- but these might be a solid way to build a base set on the cheap depending on what your goals are with Heritage. My first hanger pack of the year spoiled me a bit with an Ozzie Albies Chrome but if this is the norm for hangers I'll be going the blaster route for the cheap thrills. (Hobby is always your best bet with a guaranteed hit and typically some type of variation in each box.) ... As said before, I'd probably take my chances with a blaster moreso than hangers because you should get more inserts and more SPs every time for twice the price. Even the SPs are only one in two here -- so not guaranteed. It seems almost everything can be found in this format -- even Superfractors at one in 16,086 packs -- so anything is possible with a lot of luck. ... I'll be the first to admit this one departs from what I liked in the 1960s but it's true to the original and it's Heritage, meaning there are plenty of highlights to look for that could and should surprise value-wise (at least early on) because this one is a brand that is collected in full. I won't open as much of this one compared to what I ripped for 1969, but there are a few things to look for here -- Mystery autograph redemptions in hobby boxes for starters. (Vladimir Guerrero Jr? Bryce Harper as a Phillie?) This one will set the stage for a strong Heritage High Number set again this year, too. All in all, 1970 is far from one of my favorites, but this release is strong. The highlights just weren't found in this run of three packs at all.
