What's Buzz-worthy: This annual pattern- and parallel-driven release arrives with a slightly different format that gives you more packs and more ink per box this year -- and yet it didn't feel as crazy of a break as other versions to me. I don't sweat the patterns and the complications that you get trying to figure out what you got here so I perhaps enjoy it more than I should. This box was a Braves-heavy one with two autos from that team -- one past, one present -- and it included a few numbered parallels and an insert of a notable name from a year ago. All in all, this felt like a comfortable rip, though I don't think I'd go there with a higher price -- it's nice but it doesn't wow me if it's overly expensive compared to other stuff out there. You don't get a ton of stuff in these boxes so that's also a factor -- I feel like I liked it a bit more in past years when it seemed like you got a metric ton (of sorts) of cards, a much larger stack. One drawback here? The small areas for type on card backs have the absolute tiniest type I've ever seen on a card back. I don't think this is a brand that's all that autograph-driven but the pack format does allow people to sample a little more cheaply (by the pack) and still get a hit ... and that's something we need to see more across all releases in all directions if you ask me. It's not a cheap release but it's got enough features to feel comfortable for a few different types of collectors.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: B+
Fun Grade: B (it's still a complicated release)
