What's Buzz-worthy: This one seemed like a much drier break than last year's version, though it was nearly identical to 2018 in its insert volume, so that makes me think it's the design of the inserts -- they feel too similar to basic cards to really stand out from the pack. I'm also on record here as not being the biggest fan of this year's flagship Topps design, which this one uses. At least that's my take. I landed a pair of Fragments of The Farm Relics -- a set I typically like -- in the same box for the first time -- I've typically only found one per box. While that's good in some ways for some collectors, some might see that as a negative and want something more traditional in a box, too. The big-name prospects are all over this base set and there are variations to be found (none in this box) for a number of them. The ink here did give us some color and some rarity but numbered cards are generally low volume and not as plentiful in these boxes. That helps their value a tad if you land a top name. This box was generally on par with the brand but I just didn't get anything that jumped out of the box at me. There are some good things to find here, including ink from the likes of Wander Franco, Mike Trout, Fernando Tatis Jr., Yordan Alvarez, Luis Robert and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Land those guys' ink in some form or fashion and you'll potentially pay for a few boxes -- and there are others that will make a rip worth your time, too. This is one of two annual looks at MiLB from Topps and it's always worth a look -- it's just a matter of how much do you rip.
