What's Buzz-worthy: With a big NXT event on Sunday -- arguably one of the best of the year, WarGames -- and my doing some weekend desk-clearing I figured I'd drop an abbreviated break of two hobby boxes of a favorite of mine for its parallels and its autos. As I've done before here on this fav of mine -- you will see a few breaks of this in The Buzz Archives -- the main portion of the gallery is from past breaks but new parallels and hits from these boxes are added. Why? The boxes are pretty standard stuff for the base set and deliver pretty consistently -- the base set is far from a favorite of mine and yet the Roster cards are perhaps my absolute favorite for their look and the checklist. The stock here is really the only drawback on the base and autos -- super-skinny with black ink and on-card sigs. These two boxes over-delivered on the numbered parallels (typically one, but some have two or even three) and they got down to some pretty low volumes. The same happened on the autos (though not as low) with some notable names ... but nobody that will command big money. There are a few first-time autos here that will pay for your box and a couple that will pay for more with color and that has kept me ripping when these are cheap. The 2020 version of this one has been delayed a bit, but it should be stacked with even more young names and their first autos for WWE ... so the NXT cardboard will continue to deliver. (You should be able to pre-order that one at the link above.) This one? Well, it's long gone but can be found with some hunting. One box per case is a five-auto hot box so there is incentive to rip here in volume. I've ripped a few here but have stopped short of doing cases having landed a couple of hot boxes and one of the key autos to look for.

Product Grade: B+ (main set isn't my favorite ... roster set is A+)
Box Grade: A- (good parallels and color but not the biggest names ... statistically, these boxes over-delivered)
