What's Buzz-worthy: This box was my literal first look at this one in live form and it delivered well by beating the odds with an autograph parallel that was one in 259 boxes -- yes, boxes -- and autographs in general are listed as starting at one in 98. I have no idea if the ink will flow well here this year as this was the only blaster I picked up -- I have two hobby boxes en route that you'll see busted here beginning next week. The few of the design here is a lot stronger than the preview mocks indicated and the format is similar but better than the two previous standard WWE releases this year. This one is the home of several first-time card appearances and autographs for a number of NXT newcomers -- a big, big plus. The match highlights are numbered together with the main star cards in the set so the insert volume here (at least on the stat sheet) is way down, but these Walmart blasters help that out with a Team Bestie (Trish Stratus and Lita) career retrospective set that included a card in every pack. (Other formats have other inserts.) It's still a lean break fun-wise but it's helped by those. The parallels look very good in this one but don't flow well here or in hobby boxes -- you'll get one per hobby and the Purple is one in 55 packs here. There are manufactured Relics in this one as well as autographs and Relics so if you land ink here you can do very well. The Relics are well crafted this year and have their own parallels as well as autographed versions (rare). You can find those and multi-star autos, signed printing plates and more in these but at quite high odds. The stock here is super-thin like previous years and that might matter to some of you out there wanting to get the first NXT (rookie) cards slabbed from this one. The set isn't big so landing those notables won't be too hard but a debut is a debut and the crop of newcomers has strong international appeal with NXT UK and stars from Japan and China. Their ink will be a big deal here. I will probably grab some of them when they arrive in higher volume and (hopefully) drop in price but keep in mind that the NXT autos won't be as plentiful in that upcoming release this year. That should help values for these, too. I contemplated giving this product an A+ but it's on the simple side -- but it is the best of the three standard releases so far this year in my book. Hobby boxes guarantee you an auto every time and another hit -- so that is the safest way to go with this release.
