Pink Ice Prizm Prospect Autographs (1) – Yoeli Childs

What’s Buzz-worthy: These boxes ($45) are new to the retail aisle and arrive just in time for the NBA Draft on Wednesday night. The volume here is higher pack-wise but include a simple lineup -- Silver and Pink Ice Prizms for all 100 base cards (80 base prospects and then subsets that include 15 Crusade cards and five Global Prospects). That's it other than Pink Ice prospect autos that are in their own pack here. There's literally nothing else to be found here which prompts one to try other formats for other colors and types of parallels and textures. The year after Zion Williamson and Ja Morant will be different but there are still names that should be in demand once they arrive on the hardwood of the NBA and this is one of the starting points. This one, unlike Contenders, is purely guys who have not yet set foot on an NBA court. One other plus here? The base set includes players on more than one card -- and that means double the shots at notable names. This box felt pretty good with Pink cards for James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. I'll have a better feeling about the rest of the box after Wednesday but I liked the feel of this, although it's simple. Over time, the ease of what you pull here (about a third of the base set in every box) may have the singles prices a little soft on the basics but the stars will make up for that.
