What's Buzz-worthy: I picked up this super-affordable 20-card set (just $9.99) for a player with some school ties for me, but it could end up being a pretty decent break-up value for those who are patient as there were only 1,307 sets ordered and then made. It includes some of the top players who were involved in the non-traditional league's format -- players were drafted to new squads on a regular basis and accrued overall points (think fantasy) based on their performances. The top four players here lead off the checklist with former Olympian Cat Osterman as card No. 1 as the top player, and then the top three after her follow. (My parallel of No. 2 makes this a better-than-average set if you ask me.) This one also includes some group shots, cards of a softball legend and a women's sports icon who threw out a ceremonial first pitch, a few rookies and other highlights. You can see the whole set below. The backs are thick on info, including schools and past performances, making them feel a little more deluxe than some MLB sets out there. Given the volume of cards and the price, this one -- and the first set that was much larger without a dramatically higher price -- are easy breaks for singles sellers as softball arguably has fewer cards than any of the traditional sports out there. Sealed copies of the first set (originally $19.99) have sold for as much as $98.99 on eBay (those have ink as part of the chase) and this one, while it doesn't have autos, actually has sold for as much as $49 unopened. There is a parallel in every set that could add some solid value (or even pay for it all) if you land something rare or the right name.
