What’s Buzz-worthy: Blaster boxes of basic Donruss have been fast movers at retail -- all I've seen in previous weeks until now were empty trays -- but I finally got my hands on one (and only one) to see how things shake out. Generally? They shake out a lot like last year except some blasters this year will include magnet cards instead of jerseys -- a twist perhaps due in part to the Rookie Premiere not happening this year. This box included an Optic Preview parallel card and this might be a rarer pull -- I think they are but this is all I have opened -- based on early eBay listings. (If not, well, it adds a little variety here.) The overall insert volume is too low for my taste but that is made up for over in hanger boxes (I got a single one of those and you'll see it here soon.) The overall approach here is familiar and within the formula of recent years for Donruss but this year's design is simple and stronger than last year if you ask me, so that's why it gets a slightly higher grade than last year. This box didn't wow me but as a first taste it was pretty good. If you like what you see, hit that link up top for hobby boxes that guarantee plenty more as well as hits.
