What’s Buzz-worthy: Here's my second of two of these and it's not even close to as strong as my first one in my book, though nothing is really lacking here -- and if young players perform then it could ultimately be a better box than it feels like right now. These are the home of the exclusive Rookie Sweaters and Red & Green Optic Rated Rookies -- both things that can make a box a great one if you land a good name in either spot or a huge one if both happen to be a big name. Longer-term? Those cards may not hold up as well value-wise since they are one per box but they'll still make these boxes a highlight compared to other formats ... they are a sure thing. As I mentioned before, blasters are still a little lean beyond the rookie presence -- but there's good potential to find top rookies on the hits and there are also multi-player cards to find, too. ... The overall approach here is familiar and within the formula of recent years for Donruss but this year's design is simple and stronger than last year if you ask me, so that's why it gets a slightly higher grade. If you like what you see, hit that link up top for hobby boxes that guarantee plenty more as well as hits.
