What's Buzz-worthy: My second one of this format wasn't nearly as impressive as the first, which had a rookie variation and a notable guy for my personal tastes. This time? Nope, but my run of base cards did include Cam Newton in a Patriots uni and Jerry Rice ... but not much else for my tastes and reinforcing my concerns about this base set being perhaps too big. (Or do I ponder whether packs are too small?) The rookies here? Probably not what people were looking for but this was the first time I remembered seeing "Washington Football Team" in a break. ... As I mentioned last time, with no hit in blaster boxes and just four more cards, these slightly cheaper hanger boxes might be a better starting point for this year's Prizm depending on your tastes between Orange Lazer and Red Ice cards. Ultimately, they are the biggest difference here though it does appear that blasters deliver more basic RCs than these packs do. This set is big -- 300 veterans topped by 100 rookies -- so they can run dry at times or you can get a box where stars line up together. ... This is one of those lean ones if you ask me. ... Ultimately I'd grab it if you find it in any format at retail if you're a dedicated NFL collector ... or do hobby for the safest rip.
