What's Buzz-worthy: This one came and went at arrival without a look from me as, well, these releases can have a lot inside that doesn't interest me yet at the same time a handwriting sample from presidents all the way back to George Washington does have some appeal ... it's not an autograph but I wouldn't be able to afford one of those for many of them, anyway. (These boxes do have shots at signatures, though, with a full lineup noted on the info card.) I landed a sample of handwriting from a pre-presidential letter from Polk, the 11th president, written in 1841 before he took office. The full letter can be seen in the gallery below with my word -- I think it's "Guaranty" or "Counts" as it's some kind of office correspondence from while he was governor of Tennessee. I really can't decipher all that much in the letter but thanks to that seam/fold in the paper, the word was easy to find. It's the next-to-last word on the front page. That's the main find here -- and it's one that could have been a signature instead. The secondary find inside these boxes is a document relic in a semi-rigid and this one included a rather non-descript piece of a Bush letter or item. You can find all of the pieces they used for his cards here. The Polk letter was the only item they used in this one. My only worry here was not being able to figure out the word itself otherwise I was fine with the find given its age (181 years old) balanced by the new relic. What would be my sweet spot here for a find? Not sure ... I dabbled here since it was different and I found it at about 20 percent cheaper than asking prices elsewhere and it's, for the most part, sold out in most places as the autographs offer up a decent reward for the risk. This box? Probably not that big of a deal but I'll try a lot of products once. This one? Perhaps a second time if the price is right. Polk may not be the easiest find as the only one on eBay has a $99 asking price and the only sale that I saw on a search was $199. I guess this box was a better one than I initially thought.
