What's Buzz-worthy: At a first glance once I popped the seam on this pack -- one that I had been sitting on for a bit and I don't normally do that -- it looked like one had potential as a tip of the diecut card was poking out from the stack. But I reshuffled the cards to see that one last and, wow, was it bad before I got to the insert. All three base cards can easily be found for less than $1 here -- not good when these are more premium-priced packs now -- and one had surface damage on the back, too, but the one-per-box insert (one of 15 possible players) saved the day. It, generally speaking, can pay for the pack ... maybe a couple. I was happy to see it be Acuña as he's a player I like but one I also won't buy stuff for once it reaches a certain price as the high-rollers ... err, ballers ... probably like him more than I do. I previously opened a pack of the 2021 release -- see that here -- and some of my thoughts from then also apply this time. You just don't get a lot inside -- four cards -- for a premium price compared to regular cardboard but when buying by the box (if you want to go there for the price) you can do pretty well if all the stars show up and you land some color (odds on all that below) and good inserts (typically at least seven total per box and maybe more). Ink is not actually found here often. ... I may do more pack breaks for releases like this in the coming months but they are more hit and miss than ripping by the box.
