What's Buzz-worthy: Chrome returns to the WWE for the first time in five years -- that's a good thing -- but the odds of landing much more than what you see here in a blaster is not good at all. That just makes hobby boxes -- that have two autographs and more every time -- the far stronger buy. You get a standard Refractor in every pack here -- that's great for ripping and collecting but will hurt their values -- but if you want other colors in blasters they start at one in 57 packs. (X-Fractors are a bonus pack here.) Autographs? Those start at one in 991 packs here ... but the rainbow goes all the way up to finding Superfractors here if you're a super-lucky ripper. The image variation cards here are one per blaster and they are on Refractor stock with a full array of parallels, too. See the odds on those and everything else in the gallery. This one gets a top grade from me for what's in the overall release -- it's small but it's a well-designed Chrome effort -- and I will be ripping into hobby boxes of this one as that is the best way to go by far with aye autographs per. The odds here should not be too shocking for those who did Chrome in its last run -- 2014 and 2015 -- as the retail odds there were just as brutal but with stuff in blasters at long odds then, too. What's different? There were not two autos per box back then and I'm not sure even one is guaranteed in hobby. (I ripped only retail back then as I don't think ink was guaranteed for the higher-priced box.) ... Interestingly the "first NXT card" logo appears to be out the window as RC logos here are found on the first-time NXT stars in this set. That's a good move as they are part of the base set ... so they should say RC. (NXT cards have been both inserts and in base sets in past so this fixes the inconsistency of the logo usage. If they are in the main set, they should be RCs.) ... This box had some repeating parallels and that paid off here with a couple of names I'd want to see but it could pay off really well if you were to land some newcomers here in those spots. The photography and the design are both strong here and the color, when you find it, looks really good. I just wish the odds in blasters were. I will be ripping hobby right here soon.
Product Grade: A+ (strong photos and good stuff across product)
Box Grade: B
Fun Grade: B- (tiny boxes and long, long odds in blasters)
