What's Buzz-worthy: These late arrivers at retail (this week unless I somehow missed a previous debut) bring some fun factor to collecting with holiday-minded variations found at least once and sometimes two (or even three) times per box along with a guaranteed hit and an over-sized box-topper ornament card. This time, just one variation was in play but it was for a notable rookie with a candy cane bat. Others have Santa Claus hats, scarves, snowballs, Santa Claus belts and more worked into their photos -- and some have more than one tweak on their images depending on how scarce the card is -- there are three tiers of SPs (one in 7, one in 20 and one in 161 packs). The box is a meaty one -- a good value -- and it's a loaded large checklist. I like this year's basic design color scheme a little better than last year and there are all of the notable RCs to chase here, too. I landed a couple of those -- and that Arozarena shows him with the Rays, which is good. All in all if you want to just rip something for fun and find these, the guaranteed hit makes them an easy yes -- if you're not trying to rip and flip. The autographs here aren't the easiest finds but they are in there, too. The parallels here aren't the easiest to spot but you will feel the lifted texture, while the variations are flipped over in the packs to make those easy finds. All in all, it's a fun one that I'd dabble with -- there's always a chance they made less of this one than in previous years since it was so delayed by COVID. If not, these could end up being easier finds down the line or they could be arriving at retail over in different waves over time. This first wave I spotted was tiny volume-wise (just eight boxes) compared to past years where there could be twice that if not more.
