What's Buzz-worthy: Want a dirt-cheap box with a boatload of packs and a ton of star power? This is that -- and I will be grabbing another after this first taste (I totally skipped it last year) so I can slab some Bichette rookies here (both stickers and cards, hence the semi-rigids in the photos). Why? They've got to be off the radars of many out there based on the box prices (sub-$30) and the print runs are perhaps not as astronomical as people might think ("they're stickers") with the twist added that the backs here are cards as well. (That's something done in recent years, giving us more RCs for key names.) The design and subsets in this one are pretty tight -- literally and literally -- with tight photos on most designs and some smart inclusions like legendary past players, highlights, awards, mascots, stadium sights and more. Most of those things get sidelined to more basic releases but they add a good feel to the scope of a release if you're not just looking at re-sale dollar signs. This one was a lot more interesting than I had expected (I bought it to have some filler on slow days) and it turned out to be nicer than I thought. There was no 2021 sticker set due to printer/packager issues that companies are still dealing with post-COVID -- so there's a chance that these might get eaten up (pack-wise) by the time we see the next one. Is there big break-up value here? Perhaps not, but with the prices for boxes and packs so cheap those key names will pay for a few packs easily and there are a lot of good names here. A decade from now, I could see these boxes and singles being tougher to find than flagship.
