What's Buzz-worthy: My first taste of this format -- for any year -- was a good one with an autograph that's one in 917 packs and of a guy who came out of nowhere last season for the Giants. The other highlights in this Target-exclusive version includes Red Opening Day parallels that offer up some foilboard and color that this design really needs. Those are in the form of a bonus pack here so the packs are otherwise like other formats. The key here? Pack volume. This is basically half a hobby box with a bonus pack so you will land more here compared to a typical blaster box for $5 more. These are strong -- those Reds are a key -- but hobby boxes are still the way to go, though odds on everything are long here no matter what format you use. One thing to watch for here is a rare Luis Robert short-printed Rookie Card -- that will pay for a box or two or three -- and with the long odds on everything the hits might be undervalued out there in a lot of instances. I'd also expect that the biggest names for ink here will have the lowest print runs -- perhaps the lowest of anything for them made all year long? All in all, I liked this one and I managed to get a second hit in just three boxes of this one. (Maybe the format is running hot ... or maybe all are ... or maybe I just got lucky?)
