What's Buzz-worthy: While the ink definitely made this a strong box, I didn't realize how strong until I looked at the asking prices over on eBay. I don't think any have sold but they are all asking some pretty serious coin for this auto since he was the underdog/darling of the Rays' World Series run that came up two wins short of a crown. While Gold Refractor autos are only one in 171 packs -- that's still one in 13 boxes -- it's a strong sig to find in the short term. This box also included a notable younger star on an Orange parallel but those are far easier to land than you might think -- one in 31 packs -- which is a product of it being a big 400-card set. (With perhaps not the hugest hobby print run out there for basic releases?) The parallel and insert volume here was decent for the most part -- one per pack -- but without the flashiest lineup of inserts. The Beam Team cards here were loaded with young stars while the other inserts and even most of the parallels were so-so with some notables. Just like in retail, six cards per pack here gives this one a better per-pack feel but with fewer packs in the box. I didn't mind that as much. My RC crop here was quite solid but without the one I'd want the most but even without a top auto this RC list probably would have gotten it close to an A grade. If you want to build a set, a combination of a couple hobby boxes and some blasters should get it done and the odds here for base Supefractors are not impossible at one in 1,333 packs ... there should be some good heat there with notable players as always. I wasn't very impressed with my first (only) blaster so far, but this hobby box was a big winner. There's some really, really good potential here if you land notables among your Refractors so that volume you get here is pretty good, too.

Fun Grade: B+ (big set spreads out the star appearances and it still feels like more and better inserts could help)
