What's Buzz-worthy: My last of these I had in reserve didn't yield anything big but it did have a respectable mix of names on all fronts with the rookies perhaps being the lightest but still with a name or two of note. Did I come out ahead even with a discounted price below the original suggested retail price? Probably not ... though that's one reason to rip boxes with guaranteed hits or more volume vs. this. (But I'm making an effort to do more smaller breaks for a stretch here ... I'm enjoying singles more for the newer stuff at the moment but with hobby prices softening some and volumes good on the retail I suspect I'll be dabbling more as this year moves along.) ... As I noted last time, there's a ton of potential in this one between the parallel potential for RCs and big names ... that could make for some really good packs/boxes in all formats even if it wasn't your standard kind of year for Topps Update with historic looks at past All-Star Game and Home Run Derby action. Larger formats like retail display, mega and even hobby boxes here are respectably priced right now at the link above.
