What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz beat the 'bots on this one -- they're totally sold out at this chain store and are delayed due to high demand, for example -- as I was able to find one of these out in the wild among the barren aisles that had been full of toilet paper and other stuff. There is some planned duplication in this pack -- you get a lot of chips and only a few curls -- but it delivered as advertised. These snack packs are also the home to an exclusive Topps pack -- this year with a unique design unlike last year's base set-emulating cards with an Utz logo attached -- giving you just three cards from a meaty 100-card set that includes a number of stars as well as rookies. And that's the key here with RCs of Bo Bichette, Yordan Alvarez, Aristides Aquino, Nico Hoerner, Jesus Luzardo and Gavin Lux -- these have to be some of their rarer cards of the year ... right? My pack this time leaned more toward veterans with one a future Hall of Famer and it also offered a glimpse at a hopefully rare crimp parallel that will pay the bills* this time. (It's just a packaging mistake.) I'm not all that familiar with Utz snacks, but the Hanover, Pa.-based company is primarily a regionally distributed snack-maker that's actually been around since 1921. The company also has signed on to be the Official Salty Snack of Major League Baseball -- which is probably why this food-issue tie-in exists. These $5 packs could actually deliver big -- beyond the food -- as the Bichette has sold for as much as $45 on eBay (and volume looks somewhat low) while the Aquino has gone even bigger with a high sale of $70. Unopened packs also are decent sellers since you can see who is on the tops easily. This one was a surprise find for me and, seeing the demand, I might pick up some more.
