What's Buzz-worthy: The first half of my case I busted -- look for the second half in next month's Buzz 8 in 8 breaks marathon -- led off with ink of perhaps one of the most-dynamic characters of the last year, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and the second card I saw was of the current WWE champ, Drew McIntyre. Both are standard cards and not all that rare -- basic mat autos here are either /199 or /99 from what I have seen -- but it started with a good impression. This part of the case is arguably not flashiest but there are some odds here in the parallels that get it to an A- grade in my book. That Styles Gear Relic here is one in 176 boxes -- my rarest card in the case, but not the most impressive card. (That's a piece of match-used personal ring gear, by the way ... not the norm. These have higher volumes but unique swatches make them worth a look, especially the Shinsuke Nakamura.) The Green Chairs are one in 40 boxes while Green Tables are one in 21, and Green Mats are one in 24 -- that's helpful because the names aren't the priciest finds here. All cases I have watched have coughed up eight or nine parallels out of 20 boxes so some of these odds are how the various sets' sizes work out in the mix. The checklist is a relatively limited one -- around 90 different cards --- so even with parallels you will see a good number of names in a 20-box case. I did have a couple of duplicate signers across the entire case but one was a young stars that might be good. Early singles prices here are strong and might not hold -- that Kai, for example, has sold for more than $100 on eBay ... and a lot of cards out there are priced above that plateau. (That may not work unless they are rarer cards or top names.) This first release's checklist is a little more limited/simplified than people might have expected -- I think it might have had some COVID-caused limitations as this was delayed. (Plus some card volumes here are a bit high, making me think that might be in play.) But it's a strong start and I think this is a model that should be continued for WWE. Is this a strong box-flipper or rip-and-flip product? I don't think so -- not without some safety in volume if ripping. I think it is perhaps a good group-break/draft type of release if the box price is reasonable. (A lot of WWE autos just aren't pricey all of the time so there can be risk.) While that may sound critical, I'm coming at this one as a collector -- and there's a lot to collect here. It's a release I'll be grabbing stuff from for a long time. My second half of the case? It delivered very well ... and I'll offer some more thoughts on this one during next month's Buzz 8 in 8 day.
Product Grade: A-
Half-case Grade: A- (not flashy in this half but that Styles Gear parallel is a tough pull)
Fun Grade: B (just one card per box ... it's going to be hit and miss)
