What's Buzz-worthy: First, an odds rundown ... the 1/1 auto is one in 596 boxes (75 cases!), the other hit is one in 86 (11 cases), the Blue parallel is one in 10 and the Orange is one in five. With only eight boxes per case, statistically only one of those should be there in every single case and that makes this box an A++ no matter who's on them. Ripley? A name I'd want to find here for sure (preferably for ink) in any form and I also landed a Roster (insert RC) card to lead that way, too. Natalya? She signs a lot but she's a future Hall of Famer so I guess I could have landed lesser 1/1 autos. I think the Superstar Transformations inserts are interesting and the history presented in the Breaking Barriers set is nice giving us looks at past timeframes. The base set? It's way more palatable here vs. the other 2019-2020 releases that took the highlights approach (those exclude women's highlights) but as you can see from the gallery it gets repetitive ... and that makes the Roster set here the stronger base presence even if they are insert cards. ... OK so that's the strong start but here's a reality check of sorts. I did a case of this one and this box was, by far, the best one and perhaps the only box that easily gets an A grade ... my ink did not flow well overall in the case. There are other far stronger signers to be found generally speaking that would sell better as a base auto (Shotzi Blackheart, Toni Storm, Rhea Ripley, Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks, Stephanie McMahon and others) than pretty much all I found. The auto checklist here (hit that link up top) is strong with a number of the young stars and others who haven't had ink recently (Storm is only in the 2019 NXT set before this) ... but I got three signers twice with parallels here ... so my case wasn't as strong as it should be aside from this box. However my case (and others say it has happened to them) should mean there might be crazy cases out there with two copies of hot signers. This box, oddly, was the only one with more than one parallel card, too. All in all, I like this one and the hits here were strong but a box with a basic auto and a basic Relic for a name who isn't perhaps a top seller the small format here might not work in some instances. The NXT boxes that also were delayed last year also had a format change -- but they have some safety with two autos per box. This one still has that same potential -- but it has some bigger potential finds with Four Horsewomen books -- but it's spread out a little with only one auto per in most instances. With no retail boxes for this, everything is all in this one format only ... and I'll be buying more as long as the box prices don't get out of hand. (You'll see the rest of my case in the coming weeks/months, too.)
