What’s Buzz-worthy: This straggler was left for the kids and I qualified as one of them by making it mine despite its $20 price tag at my retail stop. It's just my fourth pack of this one this year -- a record low due to the ability to find them and then perhaps the higher SRPs this year. (Mostly due to the ability to find them.) The RC volume here is basically the same as the jumbo pack format but you get nearly double the inserts and foilboard-style cards are a lot more plentiful here. (That part actually does feel like it's worth the higher price.) I landed one of the better names but not the biggest names with the Najee Harris Rated Rookie -- though it's got a soft corner -- which makes this one better than all other packs I've opened on the RC front ... but none elite. The base run here was very rough even with the higher volume of cards while the inserts helped even things out -- but not enough star power to get it an A-level grade. (It's not bad ... just no obvious "big" here.) ... Autographs do appear to be in the mix in this format though I suspect they aren't the norm, meanwhile there are "ultra rare" blue Optic Rated Rookie Preview cards only found in these packs as well as green Rated Rookie autos, too. (Neither this time.) All in all, this one was comfy but not great -- and that's a little unfortunate as I think Donruss and Optic have been among the better releases of the last few years for NFL basics. One thing that might make me rip more or help values of stuff here that's rare but not obvious? Posting some odds on the boxes ... it feels like it might be time to do that even if the print runs are higher due to more popularity with NFL Rookie Cards.
