What’s Buzz-worthy: This one has been out a while now, but it took all this time for me to land some of my own ... at least in the form of a handful of jumbo packs. These pack a decent amount of variety for a single unit -- some obvious Blue Press Proof cards and then a stack of flipped-over cards where your helmet-less photo variations are found (but not all cards flipped are SPs). The design this year is simpler and cleaner based on what I have seen and I think it works -- it will look even better on Optic stock -- and about the only tough part here is how hobby boxes are scorchers leaving one to dabble elsewhere with other formats ... at least until the next NFL releases arrive packed with rookies in their pro uniforms. The Rookie Cards here are the highlight and this one is loaded with standard RCs -- everybody seems to be a Rated Rookie this year -- as there are 100 of them atop the 250 cards in the basic set. My packs? Very light on that front names-wise ... but that's probably just due to small sample size. The Blue Press Proofs are exclusive to this format so if you land a notable I'd consider the volume of what's in a pack and then the set size -- not an impossible pull but also not an easy one, either. That's where a good chunk of the value can reside on those big names. There are also Blues for variations -- I found one of those in my other packs -- which might make completing that run a challenge depending on how often those are found ... may not be super-tough but you never know. All in all, I like this one ... just wish I could find more and rip more so I'd get some better results here. I'll offer more thoughts with my next breaks of this one.
