What's Buzz-worthy: This one has been out for some time and available at retail easily as well and it might be due to the math -- Walmart is charging $27.48 a blaster here but these packs are only $7.98. Blasters have 20 cards while these have 15 ... so for the essentially the same price you can have more than double the cardboard going the pack route. I had somebody pick up one of these packs for me (mistakenly, actually) but I didn't mind this one at all as these packs are still loaded with a ton of variety -- so I may do more packs of this one, though there are a couple of larger-box formats to consider for this release, too, between the two main retail chains as well as hobby/FOTL (link above) with guaranteed hits. (I'm not sure I'm that sold on this one just yet.) I've been on board with Chronicles since its second year in baseball (the first was a little rough) as the all-in-one concept is fun and something all card companies should consider trying for updating brands at the end of the year. Did I land anything truly big here? Not really on the rookie front, maybe some good names overall here and there ... but it was the fun factor that got this one the good grade. I didn't expect this much variety from a single pack. I'll explore more at some point.
