What's Buzz-worthy: It didn't take me long to do a second one of these since my first taste last week ... and this one delivered similarly interesting results. The top of my pack? Mike Trout. The bottom? Mickey Mantle. There aren't a lot of brands out there with those two and then literally all kinds of other notables in different styles in between. (Yes, they have cards ... but the scope of what's in Chronicles is really seen here in these small packs if you ask me.) Overall, this pack felt a little "older" to me with fewer rookies and more veterans ... so not as strong as my first. ... As I noted last time, this one has been out for some time and available at retail easily as well and it might be due to the math -- Walmart is charging $27.48 a blaster here but these packs are only $7.98. Blasters have 20 cards while these have 15 ... so for the essentially the same price you can have more than double the cardboard going the pack route. ... There are a couple of larger-box formats to consider for this release between the two main retail chains as well as hobby/FOTL (link above) with guaranteed hits. I've been on board with Chronicles since its second year in baseball (the first was a little rough) as the all-in-one concept is fun and something all card companies should consider trying for updating brands at the end of the year.
