What's Buzz-worthy: This box shows a little bit of the magic that's possible with an all-in-one release ... eight packs, eight Conor McGregor appearances -- and he's not alone with several showings in just 40 total cards. Sometimes that will work out for you, sometimes it might not ... it depends what you're looking for. I got just 15 different names out of 40 cards ... so this one was repetitive and I liked it. Granted, I'm looking at this one from a collector perspective -- from a seller perspective this one is strong out the gate but far later on (like now) the singles prices here should be softer ... because if big names are too easy there will be plenty available out there on the secondary market. Anybody who has opened this brand in other sports in other years will know this ... yet I suspect many still like what they find. I do. ... As I noted in a past break, this brand has always been about huge variety and the first UFC edition is just that with a number of names found on a number of brands here with Pink parallels the norm here but plenty more in hobby boxes -- including the exclusive National Treasures cards that are often selling for more than a box. Blasters of this seem lower-volume compared to other Chronicles releases lately so that might help this one over the long haul but it's also still available in my area. I do think the hobby boxes are a good deal considering all the possibilities but I'm not a big enough of a UFC fan to dabble with the higher-priced stuff. For UFC fans, this is an easy grab as it's not as pricey as Prizm and it still packs some Prizm and Optichrome stock stuff with plenty of big potential -- just not every card. I'll probably still rip more of this one as it's comfortable for its increased price out there in the retail wild vs. others.
