What's Buzz-worthy: The annual loaded prospecting staple is back loaded with autographs and memorabilia cards of prospects on the cusp of things at the big-league level or new to MiLB as well as players with long-shot potential who are part of the Dominican Prospect League. Hobby boxes of this one include 10 hits -- not bad for the price -- while the blasters include two and blaster-only Pink parallels. DPL auto and mem cards can be found here, too. This one? It included on-card ink from a second-round pick of the Angels and a memorabilia card for a first-round pick of ... the Angels. In past years it was common to not find a base card in a pack here -- especially since they are serial-numbered (/999 this year) -- but this one included one and everything was numbered except for the Pink and one hit. Was this one a big winner? Maybe not immediately but this one is the home of good, safe volume of autos in hobby boxes that make it one to consider for sure ... there's safety in the numbers and you can find those top names here just like in other releases. The design this year feels simpler -- a bit of a plus -- but at the same time things feel relatively standard, too. If you're comfortable with the brand or are prospecting on a budget simply looking for ink of names, this is one to do.
