What's Buzz-worthy: Prestige is, generally speaking, a brand I typically dig into quite a bit -- but perhaps a little less in recent years (Donruss got my low-end NFL bucks more). This time? I like it but I also don't in little ways that bug me. This box was a nice little rip with a top rookie, Trey Lance, and then a guy who hits my collecting sweet spot, Najee Harris. The design here is on par with recent years but I'll admit all that white and foil on the fronts both top and bottom bugs my eye as it overwhelms the image too much and all that white just grabs my attention too much. (Just on one side feels like it would have been better.) It feels like they should have used team colors here (perhaps more like previous years) to downplay all that space or one of them a bit. (The foil doesn't help -- it just draws my attention more.) The backs are similar -- where that framing definitely works but with a good balance to add info and stats. (Still need a college line somewhere, though.) The Xtra Points Diamond parallels are only found here -- and if one is a rookie every time then there's some good value to be found if you land a top name -- and they add some flair to these breaks. The inserts' designs I generally do like though only a couple of them felt top-tier to me -- some feel like they need more touches added. Ultimately, though, I think I may need to try one more box of this to see if my gut feelings stick with more packs ripped. A rookie in every pack is a nice feel here and that may be what I like the most, though most collectors will wait to dig in harder with NFL threads.
