What's Buzz-worthy: This retail-only release is the only release for this one (though it does have a Metal hobby-channel counterpart though they are not parallels of each other) and it's packed with prospects who are new and some who are already in MLB all within a cleaner re-do of the 1989 Pro Set NFL design. It's a simple one -- a boxed 50-card set and three top-loaded autos per box -- and this box, oddly, actually included doubles of two cards. My ink included the only ARC in the release -- a high-schooler -- who is the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 draft class who might be headed to LSU if not grabbed by an MLB team in that year's draft. I think that one alone here makes this a box of interest over the long term and it should come close to paying for it. Other ink possible here includes Witt, Dominguez (redemption), Hassell, Spencer Strider, Shohei Ohtani, Jordan, House, Acuña, Leiter, Lawlar, Mayer, Harris and a ton more guys who aren't even in the base set. It's a deep one. One minor note, the top card in the set is Rutschman and mine came with some smaller damage, so that one might be a little tougher to find in top graded form if you go there. All in all, this one surprised me more than I had expected and I feel like I should have grabbed one sooner (they arrived earlier this year) ... and I'll probably open one or two more if they present themselves on the cheap.
