What's Buzz-worthy: These boxes are among the cheapest out there in the retail wild ($14.99) and are almost nothing but hits -- so that can mean good things if you land a bigger name here. This one? Not so much on the player front but my Metal card was a parallel for one of four textures -- Wave, Crystal, Mojo or Gold Circles -- and then one of my autos was a Blue. The checklist here for ink is really deep -- see above -- so landing two names I don't really know is going to happen but there are some better possibilities out there between college stars and guys who have NFL time. (Some big names seen in other recent Leaf/Pro Set releases aren't here, though, too.) This vs. a premium-priced all-plastic, no-hit-likely box I might do this one twice for every one of the others at retail right now -- production volumes vs. ink possibilities for me ink wins even if it's not the big names. Garbers was with the Raiders this season, Harris was drafted by the Patriots (and did play some) and then Strong was an Eagles signee. A lot of the Metal players here are on cards for the first time, too, so if they don't have a lot of stuff a college/team collector might chase singles and help pay for your box dabbling if you find the right name for their needs.
