What's Buzz-worthy: SAGE's new season of cardboard follows a similar approach to last year -- a box within a box but with the autographed cards in a pack this time. The lineup here is very simple -- base cards, Silver parallels and ink -- but it's one for the more-dedicated football fans and those looking for dark horse candidates in the future. A number of players in my box went unsigned and that didn't help the flash factor for somebody like me (I'm lucky to know all first-rounders' names, let alone others) but after a quick check pretty much all guys you see below on base cards were drafted and there were others, too. So ... the box was better than I initially thought on that front. The key here is the ink -- three per box every time -- and this one included a draft pick and a signee. Was this one flashy? Well, it wasn't as flashy or as colorful as my break last year so that's what I am gauging this one on. The dark colors and no gloss here may create some challenges for condition or if you have a favorite you might grade but if you're a collector and seek out players (who will inevitably get missed elsewhere) from your team or area, this one has its moments.
